Shark Attack at the Coffee Shop – in AR

About the project

ARworks created the Shark Week Augmented Reality app for the Romanian Discovery Channel, which turns the phone owner's table and surroundings into a shark aquarium with the help of a printed special marker. After downloading the app, available for both iPhone and Android, a shark appears on the device's live camera feed, swimming in circles above the print. Tapping it brings up a side view on screen, and tapping again triggers a wild attack on whichever friend, acquaintance, or business partner happens to be in the camera view. A screenshot can be taken from the screen at any time and shared with friends via email or Facebook. The app was created for Discovery Channel's August Shark Week theme, to support the teaser communication.
