About the project

What should an innovative IT company do if it wants to showcase both future technology and its attractive job offers at the same time? Use virtual reality. With virtual reality (VR), anything the client can imagine can be brought to life. Commissioned by T-Systems, we created a virtual “teaser” for summer festivals to promote applications to their internship program among high school students and those just starting college. Visitors put on a Samsung Gear VR headset and headphones, completely shutting out the outside world to take part in an imagined journey into the future. The Galaxy S7 phone running inside the Gear VR headset ensured perfect image quality and a smooth 3D experience. As the visual centerpiece, we created a massive, perforated tower standing in the middle of an imaginary city. Participants rose up inside this tower while viewing images mounted on the walls and listening to a narrator describing what kind of career path awaits an IT professional and what they could achieve by choosing this path. A distinctive feature of VR headsets is that although the structure is fixed, users can freely look in any direction within the space, so interesting visuals and related content must be provided in every direction — something that has to be considered already during content design. As positive feedback, almost all the students who tried the headset described the experience as special and extremely interesting, and afterward showed much greater willingness to talk with T-Systems staff about their future careers.
