Atlantis, the Palm – 360 panovideo VR App
About the project
For Atlantis, the Palm, one of the world's most famous hotels located in Dubai, we created a special 360-degree panoramic video solution based on virtual reality technology, which lets anyone easily get a glimpse of the experiences awaiting them at the hotel. All you need to do is download the special app onto a smartphone, launch it, and then place the device into a Zeiss One (or Samsung Gear VR, Homido, or another) virtual reality headset (also known as a Head Mount Display, or HMD). The video then starts, surrounding the user in every direction, a full 360 degrees, and it's worth watching it several times while turning around and looking right, left, up and down. During the film, we first arrive at the Atlantis, enter the lobby adorned with a fantastic glass sculpture, then walk through the Royal Suite, take in the fantastic panorama overlooking the city, then go down to the bedroom of the underwater suite, then its bathroom, in front of whose windows enormous sharks and rays swim by. After that, we ourselves dive into the giant aquarium (Ambassador Lagoon) and, while hearing the bubbles rising upward, swim around among the fish. Now we splash around together with the dolphins and thus arrive at the Aquaventure water park. We plunge down the Leap of Faith tube, get a container's worth of water poured over our necks, and finally arrive at the hotel's Nobu restaurant by sliding along a zip line. Here we can imagine ourselves in the place of the Sushi Chef, and finally we can admire the illuminated fountains and pools from the hotel's park, closing with a nighttime timelapse film as we bid farewell to the spectacular hotel. All of this as a full, 360-degree experience, as if we were already there. The 360-degree video, viewable through a VR headset, is the perfect tool for authentically showcasing the experiences awaiting guests at travel exhibitions and travel agencies.
