DEGENFELD MUSEUM AR/VR EXPERIENCES
For the Dégenfeld Castle Museum in Baktalórántháza, commissioned by Innovatix Kft., we created an Augmented Reality (AR), a Virtual Reality (VR), and a Kinect-based application. Alongside the exhibition's traditional installations, visitors can now enjoy special, interactive attractions as well.
About the project
These special experiences can be found in three rooms of the museum. The first, seemingly “empty” room only becomes furnished when viewed through the screen of a tablet mounted in the middle of the room. In front of the 1m×2m prints placed along the wall, scale-accurate period furniture appears in 3D, as if it were really there, coming to life on click with special spatial animations accompanied by amusing sounds. At the door of the second room, a virtual tour guide likewise appears on a tablet screen to introduce the history of the space. Various video content shot in a greenbox environment is displayed within a 360° panoramic photo. In the third and most exciting room, visitors can learn the steps of the csárdás and the palotás dance. After a camera takes the visitor's measurements, a virtual dancer demonstrates the dance steps on the display. The view then switches to the visitor, who can now try out the steps while dressed in period costume. At the end of the dance lesson, an evaluation follows as well: the system rates the performance on a scale of 1 to 5 stars.
