An AR-based iPad Pro application that helps users better understand sustainable and responsible consumption.
About the project
The Planet Budapest 2021 Sustainability Expo took place from November 29 to December 5, 2021, at the renovated Hungexpo exhibition halls. The exhibition aimed to draw the public's attention, especially young people's, to unfavorable environmental, social and economic trends, and to show that these negative changes, which cast a shadow over humanity's future, can still be reversed. The Raklap AR application provides information about a more sustainable and responsible world of consumption. The application helps users understand the production conditions, resource requirements and environmental impact of 3 products: a yogurt cup, a t-shirt and a laptop. We can see how much climate-change-contributing gas is produced by cows during milk production for dairy products, realize how much water is used to make our clothes, and understand how much of our yearly discarded gadgets end up in landfills. Since in consumer society production and the consumer are often physically so far apart, both companies' and individuals' sense of responsibility diminishes. Our consumption habits have become wasteful, but fortunately, with the right decisions, we can return to a better, more sustainable path. The spectacular AR content is complemented by additional visual and textual information.
