Multiuser VR 3D store showcase
Interactive Vive app and VR video showcasing brands' next-year shelf designs, with centrally controlled content
About the project
At the end of August, we were commissioned to create VR video content for a global conference held in Barcelona that fall. One of the conference's goals was to present the brand's future plans, including new product display counters appearing in individual stores. As part of the presentation, unlike the usual format, attendees experienced the new product counter designs through a virtual store walkthrough. Each brand's new product counter was placed inside a 3D store interior modeled after a real perfume shop, showcasing them in the context of their actual competitors. Since the virtual store walkthrough was part of a live presentation, it was essential that all participants (about 40 people per group) started and finished at the same time, while their attention was directed to the most important information at each moment. To achieve this, we set up a dedicated internal network for the devices and developed a master application that allowed the presenter to pause and resume the video running on all 40 Samsung GEAR headsets from their tablet. To maximize the experience, we also created an HTC VIVE version of the project, allowing participants to take a real walk through the virtual store after the presentation and interactively explore the new features of the product counters.
