About the project

For the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK), we created an HTC Vive application that presents 4 professions in an entertaining, interactive way, giving young people facing career choices a personal insight and experience of these occupations. The simulator could be tried out in a truck touring the country, equipped with 8 HTC Vive VR headsets running in parallel. At the start of the game, the player arrived in a career-selector space, where they could choose which of the 4 profession sectors — automotive manufacturing, fashion, hospitality, and construction — interested them the most. After deciding, the user arrived in a space characteristic of that field, where an 8-minute interactive simulation showcased each profession. Automotive Manufacturing Those who choose the automotive industry arrive at a car repair workshop, where they first have to change the tire of a Fiat 500 and then check the battery's charge level. Fashion The player finds themselves backstage at a fashion show, where they first have to choose an outfit, then cut the fabric pieces according to a pattern using scissors. After that, all that remains is adjusting the fashion show lighting and taking a couple of photos before the model can head out onto the runway. Hospitality Teleported into a restaurant kitchen, the player's first task is preparing a hamburger: the ingredients must be cut, cooked, and then placed between the two bun halves in the correct order. After the main course comes dessert, so a cake must be decorated as beautifully as possible with various marzipan decorations. Construction We arrive at a construction site, where first a few small electric tools must be tried out, then a wall built from aerated concrete blocks — and finally, on the 3rd floor of a building, some steel structural elements must be welded together.
