How do you showcase very large products?
About the project
If a product is too large to be transported, yet you still want to present it to potential customers, it's better to exhibit a digital replica of the product - just as we did for Ganz. Among the products of Ganz Transformer and Electric Rotating Machine Manufacturer, even the smallest is the size of a large cabinet, while the largest rivals a small vacation home. Transporting such products isn't feasible, but it would still be very valuable for potential users to view them and get a sense of their scale. For exhibitions, we therefore developed a portable solution: all that's needed is to bring a laptop to the booth, connect it to a touchscreen set up on site, and the product lineup can be presented immediately. The application consisted of two parts. In the first, a virtual walkthrough showcased every detail of the factory using classic, drone, and 360-degree camera footage, while the user could identify which part of the factory hall they were currently viewing. In the second part, we presented a transformer and an industrial motor, shown in an exploded view in 3D, allowing their components to be examined from any angle. Explanatory texts rotated in space to always point to the relevant component, making it easier to understand. Both products could also be viewed in their own environment, surrounded by solar panels or wind turbines. This way, viewers could better imagine the product's dimensions and placement. Instead of dry numbers and technical descriptions, let's make the most of technology and 3D modeling!
