About the project

The Linux Penguin came to life at the Embedded World 2014 exhibition in Nuremberg. At the event, where exhibitors showcased the “brains” behind various industrial machines, Ginzinger Electronic Systems presented its embedded Linux-based panels using an Augmented Reality (AR) Show smartphone app developed by ARworks. Visitors at the booth could watch as three different machines powered by Ginzinger technology appeared virtually in 3D, while the Linux Penguin, brought to life with eye-catching animation, demonstrated how they worked. Besides the Augmented Reality show featured at the exhibition, the app also has other functions. Both the invitation letter and the thank-you letter sent after the exhibition included AR elements, featuring a talking Linux Penguin greeting visitors, and the app also incorporates the company's contact details and product information. The solution proved that applications using Visually Impressive Technology (VIT) create exciting opportunities for smartphone-based B2B communication, even in such specialized fields.
