About the project

The Giro d’Italia is one of the most significant road cycling races, and in May 2022 it started from Hungary. To promote this event, a Facebook and Instagram filter application was created together with the Humantelex agency. A countdown clock marking the start was placed on Heroes’ Square, accompanied by a QR code, which visitors could scan to access the Facebook filter application – though of course this QR code, or link, can be used anywhere. Try it yourself on your phone: https://www.facebook.com/fbcameraeffects/tryit/1137287346833087/ Using augmented reality technology, the application overlays virtual content on the live camera feed, letting users try on a special, animated road helmet decorated with bicycles, or a pair of cycling glasses, complete with the winner’s cup in hand. The application also features a dynamic control interface, allowing the different elements to be tried both together and individually. Photos and videos can be taken of any content viewed, and shared instantly – whether on Facebook, Instagram, or within Messenger.
