About the project

We created the “SparFotó” pseudo-AR application for SPAR Hungary's “SafariMánia” campaign aimed at children, for devices running iOS (iPhone, iPad) and Android operating systems. After launching the standalone application, 6 different Garfield figures appear on screen, blended into the camera's live view – one is searching for treasure, another is doing an Indian dance, and another is kicking someone in the backside. You choose the cat you like best, or the one that best fits the given situation, set up the perfect composition together with the live view, and take a photo with Garfield. The finished photo can be saved among your own pictures, or shared on SPAR Hungary's Facebook page. Shared photos take part in a prize game, where the photo with the most Likes wins. We also created the Facebook part of the application – as a separate Tab, so users wouldn't need to authorize an app – and we handled continuous, 24-hour moderation of uploaded photos, so that only acceptable content would appear on the page.
