Animal-themed virtual SPAR AR videos
About the project
Building on the success of the spring Ocean Mania app, we created a special Augmented Reality-based application for Spar Hungary's new fall sticker album campaign. With the 3D Coloring app, you can color 4 animals native to Hungary – lynx, salamander, pheasant, and butterfly – to your own taste, then bring them to life with numerous built-in animations to perform special choreographies. Each animal can be summoned by pointing the phone at certain pages of the sticker album. What makes the iOS version of the app special – and, as far as we know, unique in the world – is that you can create not just a photo but also a video together with the 3D animated animal shown on the live camera feed. After a short naming ceremony, users can save their colored animals, even with zebra or tiger patterns, into their own personal zoo, and the resulting photos and videos can be shared in numerous formats. The app ranks among the top 6 Hungarian apps in the App Store – and based on the numbers from the app's built-in analytics module, it is clearly used by a great many people. The 4 images that trigger the 4 animals can be found at the end of the photo gallery – point the running app's live camera view at them to make each creature appear.
